Handling & Storage Guide

Proper storage and handling are essential to maintaining the integrity of research compounds. Follow the guidance below and always refer to the product-specific documentation included with your order.

The information on this page is provided for general reference only. Always follow the product-specific storage and handling documentation included with your order. AVRL products are intended for research purposes only and are not for human consumption.

Core Handling Principles

Follow these general guidelines for all AVRL research compounds.

Temperature Control

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides are generally stable at room temperature for short periods, but long-term storage should follow the product-specific documentation. Avoid exposure to heat, direct sunlight, and temperature fluctuations.

Protect from Light & Moisture

Keep vials sealed and stored away from direct light and humidity. Moisture and UV exposure can degrade peptide bonds and reduce compound integrity over time.

Keep Vials Sealed Until Use

Do not open or puncture a vial until you are ready to use it. Once a vial has been reconstituted, follow the validated storage temperature and stability period provided in the product documentation.

Avoid Freeze-Thaw Cycles

Repeated freeze-thaw cycles can degrade compound integrity. Unless specifically supported by the product's stability data, avoid freezing and thawing reconstituted solutions more than once.

Reconstitution

When reconstituting lyophilized compounds, use Reconstitution Solution unless otherwise specified in the product documentation. Add solvent slowly by directing it along the vial wall. Gently swirl β€” do not shake vigorously β€” until fully dissolved.

Inspect Before Use

Before use, inspect the reconstituted solution. It should be clear and colorless. Do not use a solution that appears cloudy, discolored, or contains visible particulates.

When Your Order Arrives

1

Inspect the package

Check for any visible damage to the outer packaging before opening.

2

Verify your order

Confirm the products, quantities, and lot numbers match your order confirmation.

3

Check vial integrity

Inspect each vial for cracks, broken seals, or visible contamination before storing.

4

Store promptly

Transfer products to appropriate storage conditions as soon as possible after receipt.

5

Retain documentation

Keep the Certificate of Analysis (COA) and any product documentation included with your order.

Certificates of Analysis

AVRL is building an online library for product-specific testing and Certificate of Analysis documentation. Lot-specific documentation will be made available as it is received and verified.
